5 ways to announce your elopement

Although eloping is becoming increasingly popular, there are very strong opinions against it. Most of these opinions come from loved ones who expected you to have a large traditional wedding and wanted to be a part of that experience. However, you’re brave and knew that eloping was right for you! So how do you tell them?

I’ve come up with 5 ways to tell people that you have already eloped!

Champagne announcement

Throw a party with your closest loved ones and do a champagne announcement! This is a nice way to ensure the people you’re closest to receive the news at the same time, in the same way, and add a little fun twist to it. I mean, who doesn’t like a champagne toast!?

Here are some fun ways to provide champagne to guests:

  • Champagne fountain

  • Champagne station

  • Champagne cart

Slideshow

Have a slideshow of your elopement photos made to show your loved ones when they come over to visit or at your next dinner party! This is a great way to share your entire elopement story with visuals everyone can see at the same time.

Announcement cards

Announcement cards are an easy way to reach all of your loved ones at once. You can add information like when and where you eloped to, as well as, use it as an invitation card to a reception - if you plan on hosting one.

Instagram post

Sometimes you just want to make your announcement quick and easy. The best way to do this is through a social media platform like Instagram. You can reach almost everybody in your life instantaneously and share your favourite photos.

At your wedding

Many couples want to host a party for their wedding, but they just don’t want to share their intimate vows in front of a crowd. For many different reasons, couples will keep the ceremony elopement private and announce it at the wedding.

Guests will show up for the ceremony and be surprised when you announce you’re already married and you jump straight into cocktail hour!

There are so many unique ways you can announce your elopement. But my biggest piece of advice is to always share the news in an exciting way. When your loved ones see just how happy and excited you are about this choice, they’ll feed off of that energy and be just as excited.

Congratulations on eloping and being brave to be authentic! You’re so rad and awesome!
